French carmaker Renault and its Japanese partner Nissan will have sold 100,000 electric vehicles this month, Carlos Ghosn, chief executive of both companies, said on Saturday at a conference in the southern French city of Aix-en-Provence. Flood and flash flood warning were issued for a vast area stretching from the Gulf Coast to the Ohio Valley. The National Weather Service said thunderstorms and rain was expected to continue for the affected area. The European Union and China are moving towards a deal to defuse a conflict over the alleged dumping of solar panels in Europe, aiming to head off a damaging trade war in goods from steel to wine. The European Commission, accuses China of flooding Europe with billions of euros of cheap solar panels sold at below the cost of production, and has imposed duties that would jump up to punitive levels in August, unless a solution is found. less
