Family members wave as the SA Agulhas departs on a research voyages to Gough Island in the South Atlantic ocean from Cape Town, South Africa, Thursday, Sept 8, 2011. The SA Agulhas is a South African ice-strengthened research vessel that has been in service for around thirty years and is departing for the last time to Gough Island as its term of service runs to a end. The island is uninhabited except for those manning a weather station which the South African National Antarctic Programme has maintained on the island since 1956. (AP Photo/Schalk van Zuydam) less
