In this Feb. 11, 2011 photo released by the U.S. Navy, a functional replica of a Curtiss A-1 Triad seaplane skims the water in San Diego Bay in front of the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis during a demonstration at Naval Air Station North Island. The A-1 Triad was the first plane purchased by the Navy and the replica is taking part in nationwide events celebrating 100 years of heritage, progress and achievement in naval aviation. less
