Three U.S. Federal Reserve officials weighed in on the key question of when to reduce the central bank's bond buying, but their divergent views offered little more clarity for investors trying to predict what will happen at a Fed policy meeting next month. Stocks on Wall Street were mainly lower, but the Nasdaq was lifted by Microsoft shares, which shot up as much as 8 percent on news its chief executive, Steve Ballmer, would retire. Delta Air Lines is expecting its healthcare costs to rise dramatically because of President Obama's healthcare law. Conservative website RedState.com says it has obtained a copy of a letter Delta sent to the Obama administration in June outlining additional costs the company will face because of the Affordable Care Act. less
