FILE - Actress Susannah York sits on stage in costume inside the Off-Broadway theater where she is appearing in Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler" in New York City in this May 4, 1981 file photo. York has died of cancer in London at the age of 72, it was announced by son, the actor Orlando Wells on Sunday Jan 16 2011. York had a string of leading roles in the late 1960s and was best known for her Oscar-nominated role in the 1969 hit "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" She also starred with Albert Finney in "Tom Jones" and with Paul Scofield and Orson Welles in "A Man for All Seasons." less
