FILE - In this April 16, 2010 file picture Germany's Deputy Finance Minister Joerg Asmussen speaks with the media after a meeting of the eurozone finance ministers in Madrid. Germany has nominated the deputy finance minister to succeed Juergen Stark on the executive board of the European Central Bank. Chancellor Angela Merkel's spokesman, Steffen Seibert, said Tuesday Sept. 27, 2011 that Joerg Asmussen had been formally nominated for the post. Asmussen's name had already been mentioned as a possible replacement.
