Among the drastic reforms planned for Nevada's K-12 education system, few strike a nerve like a plan to stop paying teachers more for advanced degrees and switch entirely to a pay-for-performance models. Gov. Brian Sandoval's staff cites research that advanced degrees are a sacred cow that schools pay a pretty penny for, but they don't improve student performance. less
