FILE - In this April 26, 2011 file photo, a worker hands a roll of plastic mat to a diver that will be placed on the floor of Lake George in Lake George, N.Y., as scientists and a corps of volunteers are launching an all-out assault on the tiny, invasive Asian clam that has clouded the azure bays of Lake Tahoe, in hopes of preventing it from befouling the crystal-clear waters of this beloved Adirondack lake. Dive teams that spread underwater mats to smother invasive Asian clams in an Adirondack lake earlier this summer are now sifting the sandy bottom of a lake in New York's Finger Lakes wine country to determine how widely the water-fouling mollusks have spread there.
