FILE - In this July 20, 2010 file photo, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert speaks during a roundtable discussion on immigration reform at the Utah State Capitol Building in Salt Lake City. Utah lawmakers passed a strict immigration law confident it wouldn’t end up in the same legal tangle as Arizona’s, but a Federal judge has blocked the law that called for police to check the immigration status of those detained for serious crimes. Other states are keeping watch as they all try to address the problem of illegal immigration without federal intervention. less
