German business software maker SAP AG has reported a 36 percent drop in fourth-quarter earnings after setting aside euro 933 million (nearly US$ 1.3 billion) to cover a lost court battle with rival Oracle Corp. SAP said Wednesday, Jan 26, 2011 that it earned euro 437 million in the October-December quarter, down from euro 682 million a year earlier. The company's software revenue, however, rose 35 percent to euro 1.51 billion from euro 1.12 billion. less
