FILE - In this March 22, 2008 file photo, Australia's Grant Hackett competes during the 2008 Australia Swimming Championships in Sydney, Australia. There was a bit of playful texting going on between retired swimmer Grant Hackett, the near decade-long holder of the 1,500 freestyle world record, and his former coach, Denis Cotterell, on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010. The subject was Sun Yang, the 18-year-old Chinese swimmer now under Cotterell's tutelage who came within a second of breaking Hackett's world record. Yang won the 1,500 at the Asian Games in Guangzhou on Thursday night in a time of 14 minutes, 35.43 seconds, the best time since Hackett's 14:34.56 at the world championships in Fukuoka, Japan in July 2001. less
