FILE - In this May 2, 2009 file picture then Hoffenheim's goalie Timo Hildebrand saves a ball during a Bundesliga soccer match against VfL Wolfsburg in Wolfsburg. Schalke 04 is set to sign former Germany goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand, with its No.1 Ralf Faehrmann facing a lenghty injury layoff. Schalke says Friday Oct. 21, 2011 Hildebrand is expected to sign a contract after completing a medical exam. Faehrmann tore ligaments in his left knee in last week's 2-1 loss to Kaiserslautern. Hildebrand was out of contract after a season with Sporting Lisbon. He has also played for Stuttgart, Valencia and Hoffenheim and was Germany's third-choice keeper at the 2006 World Cup.
