China's former Chongqing Municipality Communist Party Secretary Bo Xilai looks on during a meeting at the annual session of China's parliament, the National People's Congress, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing in this March 6, 2010 file photo. A court in eastern China rejected an appeal by ousted senior politician Bo on October 25, 2013, and upheld his life sentence on charges of bribery, corruption and abuse of power, the official Xinhua news agency reported. His career was stopped short in 2012 by a murder scandal in which his wife, Gu Kailai, was convicted of poisoning a British businessman, Neil Heywood, who had been a family friend.
