FILE- In a photo shot on May 31, 2001, the Fermi 2 Nuclear Energy Plant is shown in Frenchtown Township, Mich. DTE Energy wants to renew the Fermi 2 Power Plant license with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission through 2045. The Detroit-based utility says in a release that it notified the commission Wednesday, July 20, 2011, about its intent to submit the Fermi 2 application in 2014 to operate an additional 20 years.
