Winning French jockey Gerald Mosse has been fined by stewards for blowing a kiss to the crowd before the finish post in the Melbourne Cup, reports said on November 3. Jubilant Hong-Kong-based Mosse, 43, was well clear on French stayer Americain in the final stages of the 3200m (2 mile) Cup, when he turned to the roaring 110,000 Flemington crowd and blew an extravagant kiss. He was fined 300 Australian dollars (296 US dollars).
