(FILES) In this October 12, 2009 photograph, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) employees work on the last-pre cast segments (rings) of the Phase-II underground tunneling project between neighbourhoods Jangpura and Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi. A metro line built in New Delhi to link the city centre to the main Commonwealth Games stadium welcomed its first passengers on October 3, 2010, just hours before the event's opening ceremony. Delhi has undertaken major infrastructure projects ahead of the Games, building metro lines, an airport terminal and several roads and flyovers. But construction has often fallen far behind schedule.
