In this Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 picture, Supreme Court Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson, left, claps after Justice Barbara Jackson's investiture to the Supreme Court of North Carolina in Raleigh, N.C. Jackson became the N.C. Supreme Court's 96th associate justice in a ceremony Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, in the court's chamber that was attended by a range of high-ranking officials, former justices and her family and friends. Jackson also helps the court make history: For the first time, women now hold a majority of the court's seats. She took her oath Friday in what's known as an investiture. less
