Fumbles, the mascot for the new College Football Hall of Fame, breaks through a banner at the entrance to kick off the grand opening, Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Atlanta. The new College Football Hall of Fame has opened in downtown Atlanta, with the hopes of bringing in some 500,000 visitors a year. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed kicked off Saturday's opening with the blow of a whistle and fans began pouring into the three-story facility located not far from the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park. Upon entering, fans encounter a giant wall of 768 helmets — one for every program at every level in the nation. The high-tech hall features an interactive experience that begins when a guest registers for a smart pass and selects a favorite school. On a normal business day, no more than 800 visitors will be allowed. Advance tickets will be sold to enter during a specific time to help regulate the flow. (AP Photo/David Goldman) less
