Leon Gautier (L), 91, and Johannes Borner, 88, walk at a garden after an interview in Ouistreham May 14, 2014. Gautier, a former member of French Captain Philippe Kieffer's green berets commando, landed on the beach of Ouistreham with Kieffer's special forces on June 6, 1944, during World War Two. Borner, who served as a German army paratrooper in the war, was sent to Saint-Lo on the night of July 7, 1944, to fight the American forces. The two veterans live at Ouistreham, which was a hot spot of the Normandy landings by Allied forces. Gautier and Borner will mark 70th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings on June 6, 2014.
