German alpine ski racer Maria Hoefl-Riesch attends a press conference after receiving the crystal ball for winning the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Munich, Germany,Thursday March 20, 2014 . Three-time Olympic champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany is retiring from Alpine skiing. Hoefl-Riesch told reporters in Munich on Thursday that her decision was "to end my career now." The 29-year-old German was the 2011 overall World Cup winner. Hoelf-Riesch fell in the season's last downhill last week in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, but still won the World Cup title in the event.
