European Union antitrust regulators may attempt to revise the terms of a proposed settlement with Google, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. That would mean the European Union would reopen its settlement with Google for a fourth time, after Google agreed to make changes to satisfy European regulators and competitors. At the time, Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia called the agreement "far-reaching" and one that "creates a level playing field across Europe." That settlement may be revisited due to an increased distrust of U.S. tech companies following last year's National Security Agency spying scandal, according to the report.
