In Perth, Australia, a group of up to 16 tiger sharks fed on a dolphin carcass. The sharks ranged from 1 to 3 meters in length and were just 20 meters from shore. The Scarborough and Trigg beaches in Western Australia were closed immediately. Beach services coordinator, John Snook said, “I can't recall off the top of my head seeing anything remotely like this.” Tiger sharks have been known to attack humans, but the last deadly tiger shark attack in West Australia happened back in 1930. The sharks remained in the area for over three hours and marine experts monitored the situation while the beaches remained closed indefinitely. less
