Guinean soldiers assisting police to clear the mostly Peul suburb of Bambeto in Conakry, Guinea, Tuesday Nov. 16, 2010, as groups of UFDG youth set up barricades. A de-facto curfew is in effect in the area, residents staying inside, one day after it was announced that RPG candidate Alpha Conde had won Guinea's tense presidential election. Conde received 53.5 per cent of the 2.89 million ballots cast. His opponent, Cellou Dalein Diallo, got 47.5 per cent of the votes. A total of 4.2 million citizens had registered to vote. less
