This year, World Humanitarian Day, which takes place on August 19, honours those killed while providing aid to others in dangerous parts of the world. António Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, recorded a video message to mark the occasion.

“Today, on World Humanitarian Day we honour humanitarian workers, we recognise the life-saving work they do day in, day out, helping millions of people in need across the world,” said Guterres. “Work that is carried out with humility, humanity, impartiality and independence, sometimes in remote and dangerous places.” Credit: YouTube\UNHCR
