A historic photo of the young men in the New Mexico National Guard’s Charlie Company, 200 Coast Artillery Regiment, was taken at Fort Bliss, Texas in El Paso sometime between January and September 1942 because that is when they were training at Fort Bliss before deploying to Bataan. The photograph was on display at the Santa Fe, New Mexico Bataan Memorial ceremony honoring the 72th anniversary of the surrender of Bataan in the Pacific theater of World War II on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Bataan Building, 407 Galisteo Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
