IMAGE DISTRIBUTED FOR THE PHILADELPHIA ORCHESTRA - Philadelpgia Orchestra Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, left, greets Caroline Kennedy, the United States Ambassador to Japan, prior to the ensemble's concert in Suntory Hall, which featured works by Mozart and Mahler, on Tues., June 3, 2014 in Tokyo. The Fabulous Philadelphians, as they are known throughout the world, are in the midst of a three-week tour of Asia, Nézet-Séguin's first overseas trip with the Orchestra. The itinerary included six full orchestra concerts in China and honored the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Since 1973, when President Richard M. Nixon asked the Orchestra to be the first U.S. orchestra to perform in China, the ensemble has enjoyed a unique and special relationship with China and its people. The tour continued with two conerts in Tokyo and concludes in Taipei, Taiwan. (Photo by Jan Regan/Invision for The Philadelphia Orchestra/AP Images) less
