Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki (R) shakes hands with acting Defence Minister Saadoun al-Dulaimi (L) as they attend the funeral ceremony of Major General Negm Abdullah Ali, commander of the army's sixth division, at the defence ministry in Baghdad July 7, 2014. Ali was killed in fighting with insurgents in the Ibrahim Bin Ali area, about 16 km (10 miles) from Baghdad on July 7, 2014, as the army fights to hold Sunni Islamist militants back from the capital, the office of Maliki's military spokesman said. Security forces have been in a standoff with rebels in the area since the city of Fallujah, some 70 km (45 miles) west of Baghdad, was overrun by earlier this year.
