Isabel Turreques, 59, who came from Ecuador, makes her bed after learning that her eviction had been suspended in Madrid January 16, 2014. Turreques and her husband bought their home in Madrid in 2003. They stopped making their mortgage payments in 2011 when they both became unemployed. Her husband left for Ecuador in search for work, but Turreques stayed in Madrid. She does not hold a steady job and tries to get by, by taking care of a couple of elderly people a few hours per week. Her total monthly earnings are of 300 euros. Her eviction has been postponed temporarily due to ongoing negotiations with Spanish nationalized lender Bankia.
