The personal car of Karol Wojtyla when he was still the bishop of Krakow was driven to Rome as thousands celebrated the man who would later become Pope John Paul II and canonised a saint on Sunday, April 27. Marek Schramm, the owner of the car, said that he took possession of the car by accident and only later discovered it belonged to Karol Wojtyla. The car is escorted through Rome by Italian police in the video here. Thousands of Polish pilgrims flocked to the Vatican to witness the Sunday’s ceremony, a double canonisation of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II. Pope Francis conducted the ceremony, which was also attended by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and religious and political dignitaries from around the world. Credit: YouTube/Italy State Police less
