SOLO CITY, INDONESIA - APRIL 27: Players of Wayang Orang Sriwedari apply make-up as the Wayang Orang Sriwedari group continue their traditional performances at Sreiwedari Theatre on April 27, 2012 in Solo, Central Java, Indonesia. Wayang Orang or Human Puppet is the traditional javanese drama that tells the stories based on legends of Mahabharata and Ramayana which contains many moral messages. Wayang Orang Sriwedari is a cultural group born in 1911 as the forerunner of the human puppets in the Island of Java. It has around 80 players for everytime they perform. This group have experienced the heyday in 1960-1980 and experienced a period retroactively from 1990 to the early 2000s.
