In this July 1, 2011 photo, an energy efficient exterior door is shown from a smart home, in Cleveland. The Cleveland Museum of Natural History will test the concept of a $500,000, environmentally friendly house with no furnace or air conditioner in cold-weather Cleveland, which was an early focus of the foreclosure crisis.  The museum built an airy, 2-story house amid the colonnaded institutions of the University Circle museum and campus district to show off the benefits of the low-energy use passive house concept to skeptical contractors and energy-conscious homebuyers.
