Kosovo prime minister Hashim Thaci, attends work on a highway linking Kosovo to Albania to the west and Serbia on the east, in the village of Reshtan, Kosovo on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. The multi-million euro (dollar) highway will be the biggest ever infrastructure project of the newly declared state. According to the government the highway will cost from 7.5 to 8 million euros per kilometre, putting the overall cost to at least 750 million euros ($1.1 billion). The 100- kilometres (62-mile) highway from Vermnice at the border with Albania to the crossing point of Merdare on the Kosovo - Serbia border should be finished in three years and will be built by a US-Turkish joint venture.
