IMF First Deputy Managing Director David Lipton speaks during a news conference as a tapestry featuring Japan's Mt. Fuji is seen in the background at Article IV Consultation talks in Tokyo May 30, 2014. Lipton said on Friday that the yen is broadly in line with Japan's medium-term fundamentals, and urged the country to focus on efforts to raise competitiveness and growth potential. Lipton told Reuters in an interview that the Fund's main concern is whether Japan could forcefully implement structural reforms to shore up its sliding potential growth and export competitiveness.
