LIVERPOOL, UNITED KINGDOM - FEBRUARY 06: (FILE PHOTO) The Shankly gates stand outside the Anfield football ground on February 6, 2007, in Liverpool, England. American business partners George Gillett and Tom Hicks have reached a deal to buy the football club in a deal thought to be worth GBP470m. The owners of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, New England Sports Ventures, are purchasing the Liverpool Football Club for an estimated '300m (USD $475m) after the Liverpool board accepted the proposal following weeks of negotiation. The current owners of Liverpool FC are believed to be trying to block the sale, claiming the deal vastly undervalues the club. (Photo by Christopher Furlong/Getty Images) less
