Local law enforcement and Elkins Fire Department members assist the U.S. Marshals and the Federal Bureau of Investigation members at the scene of the shooting of three deputy U.S. marshals who were shot as they attempted to serve a warrant at a residence in Elkins, W.V. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. One of the marshals has died. The suspect, Charles E. Smith, 50, was wanted on charges related to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Dave Oney said. Smith was shot dead at the scene by marshals returning fire. less
