Supporters of the Julius Malema-led Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party marched to the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) offices in Johannesburg on April 29 in protest against what the party describes as an alleged “ban” by SABC on showing its election advertisement. The EFF said they considered any ban as an example of how South Africans were not free to express themselves.

On Saturday, the Independent Communications Authority of SA’s complaints and compliance committee ruled in favour of the SABC by upholding the broadcaster’s decision not to show EFF’s advert. Credit: YouTube/Lonwabo Miso – Jacaranda FM
