In March, senior Romney advisor Eric Fehrnstrom evoked the famous draw-and-erase board to describe how his candidate would adjust to the general election.

“Everything changes,” Mr. Fehrnstrom said during an appearance on CNN. “It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all over again.”

This is one joke that may have moved faster IRL than it did on the internet—witness Newt above.
