GRANBY, CO - NOVEMBER 11: U.S. Marine Cpl. Timothy Scroggs carries his twin daughters while walking with his family on November 11, 2011 near Granby, Colorado. They were participating in a Project Sanctuary retreat at Snow Mountain Ranch in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. The retreat, which employs "recreational diversion therapy," is designed to give active duty and veteran families time to reconnect with each other, often after years of separation due to military deployments. Many of the families struggle with post traumatic stress. Since 2008, the non-profit has held some 20 retreats with 143 families, and with 800 families on the waiting list, has another dozen 6-day retreats are planned for 2012.
