Ukraine uprising: President flees as Independence Square becomes a shrine for the dead

After a week of deadly clashes calm has descended in Kiev - but there are fears Ukraine could split in two. Former President Viktor Yanukovych has fled Kiev and was last spotted in Crimea. A warrant has been issued for his arrest by the interim government who accuse him of "mass murder of peaceful citizens". MPs voted to remove the unpopular leader on Saturday after months of protests which climaxed last week and left 88 dead. But not everyone is pleased with Yanukovych's removal and it is feared that the country could further fracture between pro-EU supporters and pro-Russian supporters.
