Several tornadoes touched down in the Oklahoma City metro area on May 31, overturning vehicles and sending residents scrambling for cover. At least 14 people were killed, including three veteran storm chasers. Tim Samaras, his son Paul and colleague Carl Young died when an EF3 tornado with winds up to 165 mph turned on them near El Reno.
