This NOAA satellite image taken Monday, October 04, 2010 at 01:45 PM EDT shows fairly widespread cloud coverage with areas of embedded showers over the northeastern quadrant of the nation as a low pressure system remains off the Mid-Atlantic coast. Wrap around flow associated with this system ushers Atlantic moisture ashore, fueling scattered showers across the northern Mid-Atlantic states and southern New England. Meanwhile, a cool dome of high pressure covers the rest of the Eastern U.S with relatively calm weather conditions. Much of the region experiences chilly daytime highs with below average values. Areas on the western side of the high pressure system, primarily in the Northern Rockies, continue to experience warming. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND) less
