This NOAA satellite image taken Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows a swath of dense cloud cover over the nation's mid-section as a frontal system takes shape over the Mississippi Valleys. Bands of showers and thunderstorms develop from parts of eastern Texas through the Ozarks and into the Ohio Valley.
