This NOAA satellite image taken Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows strong to severe thunderstorms affecting the eastern Dakotas and western Minnesota. These were occurring along and ahead of a developing low pressure system over the northern High Plains. A diminishing area of showers and embedded thunderstorms was occurring along a stationary front draped through the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Four was affecting the southeastern Bahamas and parts of the Greater Antilles. For the time being, this system is only expected to produce rough surf along the Eastern Seaboard, as the center of circulation should remain out to sea. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND) less
