This NOAA satellite image taken Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows comma shaped cloud cover spanning from the Mid-Mississippi Valley through the Ohio Valley down to the Central Gulf Coast States highlighting an active low pressure system in the Ohio Valley. Showers and thunderstorms develop to the north of the system from parts of Missouri through southern Michigan. Stronger storms and chances of severe weather develop ahead of the system from Ohio through Tennessee and Mississippi. Additional active weather is noted in southeastern Texas.
