This NOAA satellite image taken Thursday, September 06, 2012 at 10:45 AM EDT shows an area of low pressure over southeastern Canada with a cold front extending southward through the eastern United States. Showers and thunderstorms are being produced along this boundary mainly over the Mid-Atlanic. A cold front extending from a low pressure system in Ontario will support thunderstorm activity over New York State. Farther west, strong to severe thunderstorms will develop over Oklahoma, Kansas and into the Middle Mississippi Valley along a stationary boundary. To the south, an area of low pressure over the northern Gulf of Mexico has a medium chance of tropical cyclone development. In the Atlantic Hurricane Leslie is located south of Bermuda tracking northward.(AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND) less
