Nuns make a tour at Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, Spain, Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011. The start of the Spanish league season will be delayed because Spanish league officials and player representatives failed to reach a last-minute deal Friday. Spanish players representing all 42 teams in the top two divisions backed the first work stoppage in 27 years after failing to sign a new collective bargaining agreement with improved salary guarantees. The conflict is about wages; players want guarantees from clubs owing up to euro50 million, about $72 million, in unpaid salaries to more than 200 players. Clubs involved in European competitions will continue playing. Villarreal faces a Champions League qualifying game next week, and Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are all playing Europa League matches. (AP Photo/Andres Kudacki) less
