Olympic Champion Tatjana Hufner, of Germany, in action during tests on the eve of the luge world championships on the Olympic track at Cesana Pariol. Italy, Friday, Jan. 28 2011. A year after Nodar Kumaritashvili's fatal crash at the Vancouver Olympics, new safety measures have been implemented for this weekend's luge world championships. The track in Cesana was built for the 2006 Turin Olympics and it is more technical than the one in Vancouver, with high speeds of about 135 kph (84 mph) compared to beyond 153 kph (95 mph) in Whistler. Still, the International Luge Federation (FIL) asked local organizers to extend the track walls on several curves. (AP Photo / Massimo Pinca) less
