This NOAA satellite image taken Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows a large area of snow and mixed precipitation over the Great Lakes and western New England regions extending into the Tennessee Valley and southeastern United States. This activity is developing in the wake of a frontal boundary moving southeastward across the country. Upper level features are assisting with this development as well as a large high pressure system is pushing colder air into this region of the country. This more stable air is moving over the central portion of the United States causing mostly clear skies. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND)
