This photo provided by the Chicago Zoological Society shows a yet unnamed okapi female calf born on April 27, on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Brookfield, Ill. Also known as “forest giraffes,” okapi are a rare hoofed mammal native to the dense Ituri Forest in the northeast corner of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The species was not discovered by American and European scientists until the early 1900s. less
