In this photo a receipt of goods from Sept. 1917, provided by the Western Front Association. French and British soldiers captured on the Western Front were often sent to Prisoner of War camps in the East. Prisoners were allowed to receive letters and parcels. This receipt is from Pvt. Shipman of the Sherwood Foresters who signs that his goods were delivered in good condition at the prisoner of war camp in Heilsberg, Eastern Prussia, now Lidzbark Warminski and part of Poland.
